Most providers sell first aid as one course among dozens. At Irish First Aid it is the entire business, and the depth shows: every compression rate, every bandage technique and every emergency decision gets proper treatment instead of a passing mention.
The syllabus follows current Irish and European resuscitation guidelines and HSA expectations: the primary survey, CPR and AED awareness, choking, wounds, burns, shock and a clean handover to paramedics.
The result is a first aid course that employers recognise as genuinely specialist, backed by a certificate they trust on sight.

The three emergencies first aiders meet most often: direct pressure for bleeding, twenty minutes of cool water for burns, back blows and abdominal thrusts for choking.
Put on gloves if available. Apply firm direct pressure over the wound with a sterile dressing or clean cloth and keep pressing; do not lift it to look. If blood soaks through, add another dressing on top. Lay the casualty down and raise the injured limb if it does not cause more pain. Call 112 for bleeding that does not stop, spurts, or where the casualty becomes pale, cold and faint. Do not remove an embedded object; pad around it and bandage.
Cool the burn under cool running water for twenty minutes, starting as soon as possible; this reduces pain, depth and scarring. Remove jewellery and loose clothing near the burn unless stuck to it. Cover loosely with cling film laid lengthways or a sterile non fluffy dressing. No ice, creams, butter or toothpaste. Call 112 for burns to the face, hands, feet, genitals or joints, burns larger than the casualty's palm, deep or charred burns, chemical and electrical burns, and any burn to a child or older person that causes concern.
If the person can cough, encourage them to keep coughing. If they cannot cough, speak or breathe, give up to five back blows between the shoulder blades with the heel of your hand while they lean forward. If that fails, stand behind them, place a fist just above the navel, grasp it with the other hand and pull sharply inwards and upwards up to five times. Alternate five back blows and five abdominal thrusts until the object clears. If they become unresponsive, start CPR and call 112. Anyone who has received abdominal thrusts should be seen by a doctor.
Direct pressure, keep pressing, add dressings on top, call 112 if it will not stop.
Twenty minutes of cool running water, cover loosely, no creams or ice.
Five back blows, five abdominal thrusts, repeat; CPR if they collapse.
Each of these emergencies is demonstrated step by step in the First Aid Course. Train online in about an hour and download your CPD certified certificate.
